Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code?
Our dress code is lenient but generally smart casual. Hats and sneakers are allowed. *Management reserves the right to deny entry to anyone at anytime*
Where can I get tickets?
All available tickets are linked on the 'Concerts + Events' page. You can usually get tickets at the door, (unless a show is clearly marked as sold out) but not in advance. Door price is always slightly higher. We do not sell tickets at the venue until the night of, and rarely stock physical tickets.
Does Mulcahy's allow weapons?
Customer safety is paramount and we do not allow weapons of any kind. All guests pass through a metal detector at entry.
Where are you located?
Our main entrance is at 3232 Railroad Ave in Wantagh, New York. We are just off of Sunrise Highway, and directly beneath Wantagh LIRR Station.
Photography Policy?
If you would like to bring professional grade cameras to one of our concerts, please contact us ahead of time to find out that night's policy. Instagram DM is usually best for this. We are happy to issue press passes when possible.
Is there seating?
The short answer is it depends on the event. We are bar-style and GA tickets are usually standing room. VIP is the only way to guarantee seating with a stage view. Sometimes there will be first come first serve seating up at the front bar - we do not take reservations on those.
Do you serve food? Can I come for dinner?
We have a huge commercial kitchen and food is served from open to around 11pm. You can order food from any bar and any bartender. On some nights, you may be able to snag a first come first come table, but otherwise food is sent directly to the bar you ordered from. The only way to guarantee a table is by booking VIP. We don't do dinner reservations in a restaurant sense.
What if I need a seat for medical reasons?
Our facility is fully ADA compliant. If you require a seat, especially for larger concerts, please contact us ahead of show day and we can coordinate assistance. You are not required to do this, but it allows us to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
What is the age requirement?
Check the event listing. Being bar-style, the vast majority of our events are 21 and over, but this can sometimes vary. Requirements for private events and fundraisers are determined by the organizers - please contact them directly as our staff might not always have access to this info.
Do you do private events?
Absolutely! Our business is as much private catering as it is concerts - all sizes, all styles. Check out the 'Private Parties + Events' page, and the 'Semi Private + VIP' page - let's get planning!
What kind of private events have you held?
Name a milestone, we've had it. Every birthday from 1st to 100th, baby and bridal showers, retirements and reunions, weddings and memorials, Bar mitzvahs, Bat mitzvahs, engagements and even the occasional divorce party. Conferences, sporting events, and expos are also in our repitoire.
What are the set times?
Check your event listing or our Instagram story. We don't commit to a minute by minute breakdown, but the door time and opening set should give you a decent idea.
My band wants to play at Mulcahy's/ I have a booking suggestion..
Please contact the booking department via info@mulcahys.com - include a brief description in the subject line, and as much info as possible about your act. Please note, (respectfully) we are a 1600+ capacity venue, and prefer acts that have a proven track record in this type of space.
I lost a personal item at Mulcahy's.. what do I do?
We've all been there! Contact us by phone to see if there's someone in the building who can check lost property for you. Refer to the 'Hours' page to get a better idea.
The weather outside is frightening. Is my show canceled?
In extreme weather circumstances, our Instagram story is always the fastest place to get an update. If a show is ever cancelled, ticket holders are automatically notified.
What's the bag policy?
All bags are subject to search and metal detection at entry. Larger bags may need to be coat-checked or stored at doors staff's discretion. Particularly on busier and sold out nights, kindly keep your bag on your person (and not the bar top).
Do you have a coat check?
Yes, first thing in the lobby. Other than summer months, coat check is available - it costs $3 cash.
What payment methods do you accept?
At the bar, we accept cash, Apple Pay, and all major credit cards. Toast is the payment system we use.
How do you say it?!
Mul-Kay-Heez or Muls for short... (the proper Irish pronunciation would sound a little different, but this version stuck a long long time ago). This is probably a good time to add that Wantagh = "Want-Aw" and we're not in Long Island - we're on Long Island 🙂
